If you have some risk factors for diabetes, or if the blood sugar level in your urine is high, your doctor may suspect that you have diabetes. If your pancreas produces little or no insulin (type 1 diabetes), or if your body does not respond normally to insulin (type 2 diabetes), your blood sugar (also called blood sugar) levels may be high.
