When compared to the placebo group, a 400 mg dose of modafinil lengthened the time it took for people to fall asleep by 146 minutes.
Performance
Increased job performance was a result of this important difference. After taking 400mg of Modafinil, participants estimated 1.5 fewer hours of sleep and expressed lower levels of satisfaction with their sleep.
The findings demonstrated that modafinil, which is widely tolerated, dramatically decreased drowsiness and enhanced health-related quality in night shift employees.
The medication has some negative effects, though, thus it should not be used without a comprehensive clinical assessment. These findings were presented at the Associated Professional Sleep Societies' 17th Annual Meeting.
