Nosebleeds are common. They can be scary, but they rarely indicate a serious medical problem.
Nasal bleeding (also called epistaxis) is easy to happen because of the position of the nose and the position of the blood vessels in the inner wall of the nose near the surface. Most nosebleeds can be treated at home, but some symptoms should be checked by a doctor. The medical term for nosebleeds is epistaxis. Due to the position of the nose-right in the middle of the face-and its high density of blood vessels, most of us will have a nosebleed at least once at some point in our lives. Although it rarely causes panic, in rare cases, nosebleeds can be life-threatening.
